SculpSure

What is SculpSure?

SculpSure is a laser based body contouring system. SculpSure treatment liquefies fat in the treatment areas by destroying the fat cells. This treatment system was specifically designed to deal with stubborn fat pockets in areas like the abdomen and the flanks. SculpSure is done as an outpatient procedure and takes only 25 minutes per treatment area.

Is SculpSure the same as lipo?

Surgical liposuction and SculpSure are very different procedures. With liposuction, the patient must undergo anesthesia and should plan for recovery of a few weeks or more in most cases. Liposuction can be used to remove significant amounts of fat immediately, but it's an invasive procedure. SculpSure is non-invasive and requires no recovery time. With SculpSure, the fat is removed from the body naturally over time rather than suddenly via surgical suction.

Who is a candidate for SculpSure treatment?

SculpSure is ideal for people who have a few trouble spots that don't respond to diet and exercise, as this type of targeted fat removal can finally get rid of those fat deposits. SculpSure isn't a weight loss procedure, so patients who get the best results are those who are already at a healthy body weight.

How does SculpSure treatment work?

The 4 treatment applicators are affixed to the skin in the areas with the fat deposits. While the patient lays down, the laser light moves into the deeper layers of skin to access the buried fat cells. When the light enters the fat cells, they're quickly heated up. This results in irritation to the fat cells, which then release their contents. Over the next weeks and months, the body will naturally remove the liquid fat. The treatment isn't painful, although patients may experience a feeling of deep warmth. The heat of the laser is offset by blasts of cool air for patient comfort.

When can SculpSure results be seen?

Results take time, but most patients see improvement 6 weeks after SculpSure treatment. By 12 weeks post treatment, most people can see the full effects of the fat removal. Most patients are very happy with their results after 12 weeks, but people who want even more contouring can opt for additional sessions if desired.
