How Often Do I Have to Get Botox®?

How Often Do I Have to Get Botox®?

Treatment with injectable Botox® is a popular way to provide anti-aging, face-smoothing cosmetic results, preventing the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. At Lasercare Skin Clinic, Dr. Bruce Sanderson and our team offer Botox treatment from a convenient location in the Little Rock, Arkansas, area.

Botox results are so popular, we see many people coming back for repeat treatments. How long do your best results last with Botox, and how often should you plan on refresher injections? Here’s what you need to know.

How Botox works

Botox is a minimally invasive, anti-aging procedure that reduces the appearance and slows the formation of facial lines and wrinkles called dynamic wrinkles, related to repetitive muscle movements.

Botox injections use a low dose of a toxin to selectively paralyze targeted muscles in your face. You’ll still be able to make facial expressions, but Botox stops the micro muscle movements that cause aging skin to fall into lines and wrinkles in areas like your forehead and the sides of your nose. Botox also works great for crow’s feet lines.

Botox injections aren’t painful, but we do provide options to reduce discomfort if requested. It takes a few days for your best results to appear after your treatment session.

Preventing repeated muscle movements may give your skin the break it needs to reduce visible signs of aging.

How long your Botox results last

Botox injections only take a few minutes to complete, and your results can be quite long-lasting. Many people see results with Botox that last for months at a time. Typically, you can expect to get 3-4 months of great wrinkle correction after a single treatment session.

The good news is, as your Botox results start to fade, you can come to the Lasercare Skin Clinic for a refresher treatment. You can even use Botox alongside dermal fillers and other cosmetic procedures to achieve your dream look.

Once your skin adjusts to the effects of regular Botox treatments, you may find that you can go longer between treatment sessions.
